I think today went reasonably well, considering there were two poorly children involved!  We managed to stop the girl opening everyone’s presents – quite an achievement. 

I wanted to do a photographic run down of our day and it’s quite a lot of photo’s so I’ve put it here.

Here are some pictures of the cake – my most ambitious project to date – I’ve never made a fruit cake, never marzipanned a cake and then iced it, never used flower paste before (to make the cut-outs thinner) and I’ve never used softened sugar paste (to make the feathery effect on Mr Robin).  We haven’t tried it yet, but it looks ok!
