29/365 – Cranes & Cake

That’s sure to get a few crazies from Google!

I was walking along Regent Street today and I looked up and saw the cranes.  The sky was beautiful and blue, the cranes were modern and many, and the buildings were old (and I can’t think of another word beginning with “o” to describe buildings.  damn).  I liked what I saw (although admittedly I did crop out the street light).

It was cake decorating today and I made this.  I have to make several more flowers before next week to arrange on a plaque.  Do you hear that sound?  It’s the sound of my neck and shoulder muscles tightening in nervous anticipation – I don’t like flowers and I’m not very good at them.  That’s why I switched from the Tuesday flower course to the Thursday sugarpaste course.  Sigh.  By the way, the leaves were made using a ready veined cutter – now that’s my kind of cake decorating.

  1. Ooooo, get you going up to town – I’m only jealous of course. The rose is excellent – how can you say you’re not very good – you big fibber :-)

  2. Love the rose! That is some incredible handiwork! And the crane picture is great, especially with the spire in the middle!

In response to your comment – how could I not love A Perfect Circle – Maynard is part of it! I have seen them in concert 3 times. If Maynard is involved, so am I. Are you familiar with his new project Puscifer? It is very dark, and very awesome. If you aren’t aware of it, check out http://www.puscifer.com – he also has a winery – check out http://www.caduceus.com

    Cheers!

  3. Missed you, too. The children have grown so in just a couple of months!

  4. I think you did a great job!

  5. I like the contrast in the cranes photo.

Good job with the flowers and leaves!

  6. I like the flower! A lot. then I love roses…
I also really like the shot of the cranes, like they are in a mechanical ballet of sorts
