May Retrospective

Retrospectives

151/365 – Splish Splash

They weren’t having a bath but having fun in the paddling pool.  The girl mostly wanted to make pretend cups of tea, but the boy – he wanted to make as much mess and as much water go out of the pool as possible.

150/365 – Party Time

It was LNFATR’s youngest’s 1st birthday party today.  We all had a lovely time but the boy seemed to really enjoy himself to the max.

First there was the dancing.

Then there was the illicit stealing of crisps when he thought mummy wasn’t looking

(see those tippy toes?).  And finally there was the watching of LNFATR playing guitar hero.

Not to mention slides, bouncers, older cousins (not his) that were willing to play with him, trikes and all manner of things that are great fun for a small boy.

Thank you, LNFATR

149/365 – The Moon

The girl shares the same fascination as me for the moon, especially when you can see it during the day.

I’ve been meaning to do this for some time and today I finally got round to changing the lens on the camera and getting out the tripod.  I’ve also cropped this a bit.  I must watch out for a full moon and try again then.

Here’s some added cute for you all.

Not bad given that she’d thrown a (plastic) watering can at his head about an hour earlier.

148/365 – The Princess and The Pea

It honestly didn’t look this big when we ordered it.  I think they doctored the pictures on the website.

I admit, we might have gone a bit over the top but she picked it and she loves it.  A pink lamp shade and some pink curtains and that’ll be her happy for the next 10 years I should think.

I can’t believe that it’s just over a year since I posted this.  It only seems like a couple of months ago.  Soon it will be the boy’s turn to go from cot to cotbed.  The thought scares me – I somehow don’t think he’ll be quite as good at staying in his bed as she’s been.

147/365 – Falling

He hasn’t yet but he’s going to soon.  I only took one picture today and I had to take it quickly so I could go and catch whichever child fell off first.  The boy has taken to climbing on the chairs whenever possible.  He hasn’t quite worked out how to get down yet.  The girl is naturally clumsy and not inclined to climb – she does whatever he does though.

I feel my next A&E trip coming on soon.

146/365 – Ice Cream

This is another picture from yesterday (ok, I confess, I took nothing today).  For some reason, every time I look at this picture I think of Dutch artists.  I guess it must be the beard.

145/365 – Poser

We took lovely little sister to London today to go on the London Eye.  It was a lovely hot day so those pods got nice and warm.  They had put an air conditioning unit in the pod which the boy quickly spotted and got settled in front of.  A couple of people started coo-ing at him and he soon started posing for them!

144/365 – Gone Fishin’

Lovely little sister is staying with us for a couple of days and this morning we went to my favourite museum, The Horniman.  It was practically empty which was great as it’s quite a popular museum but this morning we had the aquarium to ourselves.  The kids and lovely sister spent ages at the tropical tank finding Nemo and Dory.

143/365 – Connections

It’s very rare that the girl gets two aunties in the room at the same time.  She was determined to make the most of them!  It should have been three but plumbing got in the way sadly so Aunty D couldn’t be there.  It’s possibly just as well as the girl might well have exploded what with all the auntly attention.

The boy was quite busy as well.  It’s amazing the effect an inflatable can have on a small boy’s hair (and yes, he has bumped his chin but it was only small so no A&E this weekend.  Yet).
