Why do things like this look worse on the second day?

Things like this always happen to my kids right before it is picture day at school.

Ow ow OW! Though we’ve had one occasion where I had to go into work with a black eye because dudelet threw a (toy) truck at it…

Oh, bless her heart! Ouch. Well, at least she looks happier in this pic than in the previous post. Hopefully it looks worse than it feels?

Oh no!! But no broken teeth, right? That’s how I gauge things. Poor girl. She is just SO CUTE.
