Apologies for the brevity of this post. I am posting from my phone which is, frankly, a bit of a faff.
We are in the west country at the moment, visiting Granny. She’s much better but still in hospital for the foreseeable future.
On our way here, this morning, we went to the allergy clinic at St Mary’s in Paddington.
I had the boy referred to this allergy clinic when I discovered that the allergy/asthma clinic he was being seen in was actually only an asthma clinic. I had been wondering why they just kept telling me to give him anti-histamines for what I suspected were allergic reactions, rather than trying to work out what else he might be allergic to.
One of the first things they did when we got there today was a series of prick tests.
Seems he’s still allergic to peanuts. Nothing else showed up but apparently he might be brewing other allergies that just aren’t showing in the tests yet.

Aww poor wee guy, bet he wasn’t happy getting that done! At least it’s only the nuts he’s allergic to. xx
Look at that reaction! Poor little man and poor you having to do it to him.
Fingers crossed the new clinic is exactly what you need.
Glad your mum’s feeling a little better and well done you for spotting what the original clinic really should have pointed out in the first place! Hope the other allergies remain ‘pending’.
Didn’t they offer you the blood test? Ask for it – if you think he’d be OK giving blood – they only need a wee test tube to test for multiple nuts.. I think we tested for seven (all positive!). I think the prick tests are just scary – I refused to let Andrew near anything nutty – we waited til he was seven and they took blood offsite to test. Yes I am a control freak
Oh dear! Good to find out early though!
