59/365 – How Does She?

Given that she’s such a girly girl, all dainty and princess-like, how do her legs get so battered?

Even her foot is bruised.

58/365 – The Many Faces of ……

The Girl.

Who has really “got” posing for the camera now.  I watched her yesterday, at the wedding, switching on her smile everytime she thought a camera was being pointed at her.

I’ve trained her well.  It’s just a shame then, that all I can get out of her is silliness.

57/365 – Something Borrowed

We went to a family wedding yesterday.  We had such a lovely time that I pretty much forgot to take any photo’s.  I am planning on hi-jacking my sister-in-laws camera because I think she probably took some corking ones (especially of my children).  Oh, I also didn’t post because instead of leaving at 6.30pm as we’d planned to, we actually left at 8.50pm.  Oops.  Still, we got back just after 10pm and the children didn’t make any fuss at all about being put to bed.

I mentioned on facebook that I was wearing grown up tights, (i.e. less than 70 denier) for pretty much the first time since before I was pregnant with the girl, and a very beautiful dress lent to me by LNFATR (oh the joys of having a best friend who’s the same dress size as you – although I will have to lend her my shoes in return at some point) and was bombarded with requests to see a picture of my outfit.  Well, when I say bombarded I mean that at least two people asked.

So, never one to disappoint, here I am.  My hair did look slightly better during the day but this was taken when we got home.

Dearest Henri from Marketing to Milk, I hope that satisfies your shoe lust, but if it doesn’t just let me know and I’ll sort you out a better picture!

Now, I know what you’re thinking.  It’s something along the lines of “what a beautiful dress, but if only it had lovely floaty sleeves”, isn’t it?

Well, check these out.

And I didn’t dip them in mine or my children’s gravy.  I’m dead posh me.

56/365 – Queen of Her Castle

It would seem that after years of being an extremely girly “oh no mummy, I couldn’t possibly climb on anything” girl, she’s suddenly found her climbing boots.

She was up and down this climbing frame, with total confidence in her abilities, not a sign of fear (from her anyway).

55/365 – Heels

We’re going to a family wedding on Saturday.

Setting aside my usual food fears, I’m very excited.  I love a good wedding.

So excited, in fact, that I’ve bought a new pair of shoes.

The last shoes I bought, about a year and a half ago, were a pair of extremely comfy, wear all the time, slip on DMs.  I know, they don’t sound attractive but they are, as I said, comfy.  I recently walked 3 miles home in them when I locked the keys in the car (but that’s a story for another day, maybe).  The pair before that was probably bought about 3 years ago.

Nowadays I buy my shoes for comfort and durability, not looks.

I haven’t worn proper heels since before I was pregnant with the girl, so there may well be some more pictures of me having fallen over coming up, but I quite liked the look of these.

Apparently, my children quite liked the look of them as well.

54/365 – Shy?

He’s not, by any stretch of the imagination, shy.  Just lately though, the boy has decided that he must not have his picture taken under any circumstances.

It’s tricky getting pictures of him without him realising, so they’ve been few and far between lately.

We’re going to a wedding on Saturday so I convinced him that it was really time for a proper hair cut at the barbers, not a “mummy hacking off as much as she can with the clippers in the time she can keep him still” cut.  With just the two of us at the tram stop, on the way to the barbers, it was suddenly ok for me to take as many pictures as I liked.

So, here he is, pre-cut.  If I’m lucky I might be able to get one of him shorn.  I haven’t managed it yet, but there’s always tomorrow.

53/365 – They Do Like….

to get comfy when they watch tv together.

And I do like it when I hear very, very good news.  Huge congratulations to my good friend Veronica and her partner Nathan who have just announced their engagement.  I can’t wait to see the wedding pics and I do hope the mother of the bride has started looking for a suitable hat!!

52/365 – Green Toilets

We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa today.  They suggested we take a stroll around a nearby nature walk.

We had a great afternoon and I don’t think the children scared too much of the wildlife.

I’ve got some lovely pictures of the children, but I’m not going to show you them today.  No, today, I’m going to show pictures of the inside of the toilet we used there.

If you’ve been reading for a while you’ll know that I used to have a bit of a thing about toilets.  Now that we’re toilet training the boy, public toilets are once again at the forefront of my mind.

I loved the decor in the one we visited today.

But what you can’t see in that picture is the floor.  Grass!  Genius.

51/365 – Self-Portrait

I was playing with hipstamatic earlier this evening.

The girl demanded to know how I’d taken some shots of myself, so I showed her.

She took this. Clever girl, eh?

50/365 – Rainbow

I have been relying heavily on my iPhone for photo’s of late.  It’s very handy but the pictures aren’t always great quality.

If my iPhone is the baby camera and the husband’s DSLR is the daddy camera, I suppose the little point and shoot must be the mummy camera.

I tend to either go for the iPhone for convenience or the DSLR for quality, forgetting that I did my first 365 almost entirely on the point and shoot and I got some not too shoddy pictures out of it.

Here’s one I took last week.  The girl is having a whale of a time at Rainbows but I seldom have time to take a picture of her in her uniform.  The advantage of the point and shoot is that it still lives in my handbag so I guess it’s not too far behind the iPhone in terms of convenience and it takes much better pictures.
