272/365 – Piano

After her first lesson, she’s wanted to practice and practice. How do I keep that passion going?

271/365 – Early Morning Sun

Taken this morning on the way to work. There are benefits to being at work early sometimes.

270/365 – Style

This is how you celebrate an anniversary with style.

I love you, the husb, you know me so well.

269/365 – Eight

The weather today has been gorgeous.  Sunny and quite unexpectedly warm for a day less than a week away from October.

It reminded me of this day in September, eight years ago when the weather was just as perfect (although slightly cooler).

This day, eight years ago, was the day that I said “I do” to the man that I knew from early on in our relationship I would spend the rest of my life with.

I don’t often mention him here.  Not because I don’t think about him for most of my waking moments, but more because I don’t want to sound too smug, what with him being totally fabulous.  From morning until night, coffee in bed to pyjama warming, I am a lucky girl.

This was taken on our honeymoon.  We went back to Passage Peak on Hamilton Island, the place where he proposed to me, romantically on one knee and completely out of the blue.  I still smile when I think about that day.

One thing that today has really brought home (as I was searching for a photo of the two of us) is the lack of photographs of me and my man.  I make sure I’m in pics with the children now (which I was formally also guilty of not doing) but I think it’s time to get some up to date pics of me and him.

268/365 – Dear Blog

Dear Blog,

I really, honestly do love you.  It’s just that I’ve had Rainbows and a PTA meeting this evening (plus minutes to type up) and now I’ve got to make the packed lunches for tomorrow and then really it’s bedtime.

I promise I’ll find a lovely pic for you tomorrow.

Lots of love

Your slightly rubbish (and a bit worn out) owner.

267/365 – Angles

When you’ve brewed your own beer, it’s very important to store it at the correct angle to keep any sediment at the bottom of the bottle.

Especially once your beer has made it to the fridge.

“Easy”, I hear you cry, “upright”.

Not so, when your ‘trying to be helpful’ wife has bought you the oversized bottles.

Still. There are ways and means.

Particularly when you don’t need much room in your fridge. Apparently.

266/365 – A Common Sight

And not one I’m going to be bored with anytime soon.

Things are manic here. A clash of work, rainbows and pta has meant that my posts have been last minute and hastily cobbled together of late. I can’t guarantee that’ll change anytime soon, so I won’t be offended if you don’t stop by for a while.

265/365 – Re-Inventing

the school library. And hours of fun with sticky back plastic.

264/365 – Rainbows

They might be small but they take up an awful lot of time.

263/365 – Preferences

I’ve spent many a happy hour berating the parenting manuals and all the information they don’t give new parents.

And yes, even though my eldest is nearly six, I do consider myself a new parent. I am still learning every day.

Anyway, back to my original thrust, the things that parenting manuals don’t tell you.

They didn’t tell me that my child would be not quite six when she started rejecting my choices. I thought she’d be at least thirteen.

Perhaps I’m unrealistic.

Apparently her lunchbox is “falling apart”. Not to mention the fact that it hasn’t got a disney princess on it.

On the upside, she’s given me some leeway. I’ve got until half-term to provide something more suitable.
