303/365 – She Gets It

Not only does she get it, but now she even has time to smile for the camera as she goes past.

301/365 – Spot the Odd One Out

A new table cloth. The perfect place for a herd of dinosaurs.

300/365 – Again

Today was our third visit to the London Transport Museum. You would have thought it was our first, apart from the fact that they now know exactly where to find the stamper machines.

299/365 – Shiny

A free handset on a better priced deal was just too good to turn down so it’s bye bye iPhone and hello Samsung Galaxy S2.

I’m rather fond of it already.

298/365 – Confusing

I like making marmalade, even if it is from a tin.

I like re-using jars, that we’ve used and washed out, to bottle said marmalade.

I wonder if I’m setting myself up for failure at some point though.

Marmalade in a Hellman jar. That’s a ham sandwich just waiting to go wrong.

297/365 – A Very Close Shave

Did I mention that the kids were allowed to try on helmets at the museum we went to yesterday?

Well, they were.  They were both very taken.

Then the curator gave the boy a wooden sword.  I think the boy thought it was all his christmasses and birthdays at once.

The girl looks, with hindsight, understandably apprehensive.  I hadn’t realised how close he got seconds later, until I downloaded the photos today.

Words had already been had about swords and faces, but I’ll be re-enforcing that next time he gets to play with one.  (If there is a next time, the way I’m feeling right now there may well not be).

296/365 – Brass

We went to Canterbury today.

I think we’ll probably be visiting quite a lot more while the smalls are still small. There are lots of child friendly things to do and we can get there very easily (especially when we’re staying in Kingsdown).

Today’s visit started with Pizza Express, a big favourite with the kids and somewhere we can usually find a money off voucher for.

After lunch we went to Canterbury West Gate Towers, the last of the city’s fortified gate houses.

My two were fascinated, but by very different things. The boy was all about the murder holes – holes in the floor of the building down which heavy items or boiling liquids could be thrown/poured to repel any marauders that might be marauding in the locality. The girl went straight for the brass rubbings. No surprises there.

What did surprise me was that we persuaded the boy to try a brass rubbing too. And he enjoyed it.

295/365 – Delightful…..

is what the weather is at the moment.

In fact, surprisingly delightful for nearly November.
