I’ve been blogging, and taking photographs, since 2008.
One of the recurring themes that I see amongst photographers/bloggers who are also parents is the exhortation to make sure that as the parent taking the pictures, you get into some of them as well. I am terrible at doing that. Firstly I don’t like having my picture taken and then I’m so busy taking pictures (and trying to work out the camera settings) that I forget that there should be memories of me as well.
So, with that in mind, here’s one I made earlier. The kids and I tried some alternative methods of transport today. We went on the DLR to Greenwich and then a boat on the Thames back to London Bridge.
This was taken on the boat bit of the journey. You can’t tell that from the picture but at least I’m there with them.

It’s a gorgeous photo too.
I do the same thing, forget to take photos with me in them. I have to fix that.
Anyone scanning our (virtual) photo albums would probably come to the conclusion that I’m an absent parent. I know the problem all too well!
