I took the girl to her first ballet performance today. We went to see “My First Sleeping Beauty” performed by the English National Ballet.
Of course she loved it. From the first pirouette to the last arabesque she was completely mesmerized. She was even only a little bit scared of the baddy.
Looks like I’ll be researching ballet lessons next week then.
We also unearthed a lovely individualistic streak in her today. I told her where we were going and explained that she could dress up as a fairy or a princess if she wanted to, and that a lot of the other little girls probably would.
This is the outfit she chose.
My girl absolutely rocks her own style* and for that I am immensely proud of her.
*caveat – the fact that they were new clothes, from our delivery earlier in the week, may have influenced her, but that doesn’t count in my book.
