34/365 – Pronunciation

In the afternoons at the school where I work, I work with various intervention groups, one of which is for children who speak English as an additional language (or EAL if you want the TLA).

We were looking at adjectives today (although in my year we call them wow words) and I have a worksheet with pictures of snakes that the children colour in to fit the description, i.e. spotty, stripy, green and yellow, etc.

One of the snakes has the description “furry” which is hard to colour in at the best of times, even harder when the children misunderstand and think you’ve said “fairy”
