A Lovely Day

Such a lovely day.

Lunch with my husband. Fabulous weather. Happy children (it’s almost as if they know when’s a good time to pull it out of the bag). What’s not to like?

The icing on the cake though, was singing with approximately 499 other people, as part of a massed choir, in the Turbine Hall of the Tate Modern. It was our first rehearsal for a choral piece we’re performing as part of the opening of the new building in June. Our choir is one of over twenty taking part. The acoustics are amazing, with an apparently 7 second reverb. I’ve never heard anything like it.

The cherry on said icing was when those 499 people, led by my choir’s absolutely lovely musical director and my good friend, sung happy birthday to me. Pretty awesome with the sound in that room.

We finished up with a couple of glasses of wine while looking at this view.

Yes, such a lovely day.
